Abstract
Benign osteoblastoma, a rare tumor which forms osteoid and woven bone. Accounts for less than 0.8 percent of all bone tumors. The ratio of males to females is 2:1. with 80 per cent of the patients being under thirty years of age. pain is the most
common
symptom and rarely pahologic fracture. In the spine, the lesion may produce symptoms of spinal cord and root compression, and of scoliosis. Osteoblastoma is a benign tumor but has a high recurrence rate after intracapsular curettage and
intermittent
malignant change. Therefore, choice of surgical procedure is the 'en-bloc' resection. Authors have experienced a case of osteoblastoma developed in the third cervical spine and analyzed those cases already in the literature. The treatment was
intralesional curettage and autogenous cancellous bone graft. Postoperative result was good and no clinical problem in about 24 months of follow up.
